Roberto Carlos ‘El Hombre Bala’

Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos is nicknamed ‘El Hombre Bala’ (The Bullet Man), mainly due to his powerful and unpredictable free kicks.

Carlos is regarded as one of the best left-backs of all time, and in 2004 was named in the FIFA 100th anniversary list of the world’s greatest living players.

On June 3, 1997, against France in the opening game of the 1997 Tournoi de France tournament, Carlos scored the most famous goal of his career with one of the most spectacular free kicks in football history.
