Hakan Sükür ‘The Bull of the Bosphorus’

Hakan Sükür is a former Turkish striker who played for the national team from 1992-2007, and is the all time leading goal scorer for Turkey with a total 51 goals.

Sükür is nicknamed ‘The Bull of the Bosphorus’ after the strait that forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia.

Sükür’s most famous goal was when scored the fastest goal in World Cup history on 29th June 2002, where he scored in 11 seconds against South Korea.
